APROPOS

Press Option-Space on a Mac and Apropos lists every menu command of the app you are in, plus actions for whatever is selected: text, files, a page or a git folder. It is keyboard first, runs entirely on your Mac and learns which command you usually run next from command names and times only. It sits next to a launcher such as Raycast rather than replacing it. Early and open source: no release yet, you build it from source.

• Lists the menu commands of the frontmost app with their shortcuts, searches them with typo tolerance, and runs the chosen one through the Accessibility API
• Context actions read the selected text, files, page address or git branch only when the panel opens, and put the ones that fit first
• Send to hands a selection, a page or files to Notes, Reminders, Things, Obsidian, Bear, a Mail draft that is never sent, or the Share menu
• Sequences chain steps of different kinds into one command, pass each result to the next step and ask for one confirmation before anything leaves a trace
• Usually next learns on the Mac which command follows which and says why, from names, apps and times, never from selections or documents
• Your own commands (a link, a Shortcut or a program) must be approved before they run, and values from outside can never become program text
• Recording a command by doing it once is experimental and asks for its permissions only when you start
• No account, no analytics and no server, with a menu bar popover, onboarding, light and dark, and Liquid Glass on macOS 26
